How to secure Polar Pro LED kit w/o uglification?

I like the Polar Pro LED kit. Looks nice... except when the plug falls out of the Solo socket. Or one of the LED bars falls off and hangs by the wire. Or both. All of which happens more often than not. Unfortunately all my attempts to secure the plug and light bars (e.g. with black electrical tape) have uglified my Solo.

So how do you Polar Pro LED kit owners secure the plug and light bars while keeping your Solo gorgeous? Thanks in advance.
 
I too pondered this after it dangling in front of the camera, in the end I ended up drilling two small holes on each side of the light and looped it around the leg with a black zip tie.
 
What do you guys use this for? Is it for looks or is it a major aid in orientation? During the day in bright sunlight how effective is it and at what distances?

Or, if you have an SCoA, they do meet the spec for Part 91.209;)
