Just bought a 2nd GoPro Hero Black so I can keep my 5.8mm lens in one and the 3.97mm in the other.

THe new Hero is the musician model- without the case. It works fine on it's own, but when I put it on my Solo, it freezes - no control at all. If I remove it from the Solo it stays frozen until I remove the battery.

Any thoughts? I can probably return it under eBay's "not as described" policy, but was wondering if there's some strange setting or something I'm overlooking.

Great suggestion. You mean on the Hero? That was the first thing I did, but I didn't double check.

You also may to reformat the SD. Had same problem w/my Silver & after reformatting, problem solved. Peace

Update GoPro firmware. Try changing the SD card. I can't imagine the music version is any different other than the mounts. You may have gotten "eBayed"

Thanks I tried it with a different SD card, and I only use Sandisk Extreme Pro, which in my experience is the best. I updated the firmware and re-formatted the card. I plan to test it tomorrow after I install my new strobe.

Well, I do feel stupid. The new GoPro just needed updating. What does it mean when I think about doing something, and then later think that I actually did it?
