Oh Masters or Space and Time, here my plea.

Let there be someone out there, the Obiwan Kenobi of engineering and development, who will figure out how to replace the hated GoPro Hero 3/4 with a real camera ... and determine some way to use it within the beloved Solo frame.

After a lifetime of photography, I find that stills and videos from a GoPro remind of listening to music on mp3 recordings.

No, GoPro stills always look crappy. I hoped it was the strange fisheye perspective with color enhancement. So, I put a nice rectalinear lens from peau on it. It still looked crappy. I accused peau of bad setup on the lens, because it was so soft, almost out of focus ... Then ... Oh well, you g the i

GoPro stills always look crappy.

Compared to a good DSLR, yes, but you can still get great shots with one. This was shot by a Hero 4 Silver on a Solo. I would definitely not call it crappy.

but then again, they know how to use the equipment
