Hi Guys,

I just made a FB page named Ultimate Drone Adventures.I want people to send me there best vids so I can post them up. I fly a solo myself but don't care what the footage is taken with. I just want to start a video page that is dedicated to drone flyers and not particular brands . Thanks

I love watching drone videos . I put up videos from youtube and if someone sends me a video and I like it i will put it up. YES it is my first post but I have been on this site for 4 months and enjoy reading peoples posts . I don't get any finacial gains and kick back from this . I do it because I love it. There is nohing illegal about sharing videos from youtube to facebook. If someone does not like me watching their videos or sharing them i guess they take them off a sharing website like youtube. As for private videos I would only put them up if someone wanted me to . I don't share videos I ain't got permission for .

There's a whole BUNCH of copyright issues and privacy concerns here - heck, I've had a YouTube channel of my aerial videos for many years and I'm still very, very careful about what I publish.
Putting your own footage up is one thing, but watch your step anytime you appropriate someone elses footage.
Just a word of caution!

Except that when YOU post the videos, say on YouTube, you can monetize them with ads. Therefore you would be making money off other people work.

Yeah its not illegal its a direct link to youtube. If i downloaded off youtube and and used those videos yes that would be copyright but when someone watches thiose videos from a link that takes them directly to youtube its not an infringement of the copyright. Also people have the option that they can to take the share button off their youtube video. All I can say if people don't want their vidoes viewed and shared put them either to private or don't put them on youtube. Me showing just benefits the person who is on youtube. Don't people want as many views to maximize the adsense pay

If you upload your video to youtube, you give youtube the rights to it, and they can now distribute it how they want, or allow others to. Same with most of these "social" sites. Read the TOS you agreed to when signing up for youtube. You gave it to them and are no longer the exclusive copyright holder. Upload a pic/video to facebook? It's now theirs. Use Instagram? Whatever you upload is now theirs. If it's public on youtube, anyone can link to it how they wish. Other people can include your video in their playlists, too. If you want to retain copyright, upload to a server that you own/lease or use a service with a different TOS.

Have to say I completely agree. Why on earth anyone would want to send their "best" videos to a complete stranger who "just made a FB page" is beyond me. Probably innocent intentions rooted in enthusiasm for the subject, but a bit weird nonetheless IMO.

Well maybe I fly drones for a different reason to most of you, I don't do it for money. I do it because I love it and If I capture an awesome shot I want everyone to enjoy it. After putting up this post i realise what people are really like now. Everyone is talking about lawsuits and trying to screw the next person over . Life's to short for all that bullshit..

Jesus christ. Anyone would think i asked for some porn that they made with their partners. I share videos to compliment peoples work . I dont make them my own or do anything with them . I would also only share vidoes off youtube once I was sent the links. My god people are so precious . You know what i don't want anyones movies anymore. Screw it . I know what a lot of drone flyers are like as I have been flying them for over 4 years now . I'm trying to bring everyone together but it seems no one as changed at all. They are still the same

Correct. If people put their video up and publicly share it as well as check the box to enable embedding, then they can't complain. I think perhaps its just the way you approached this that sounded like you wanted people to give you their videos so you can upload them to your own YouTube account. If that's not the case and you just wanted to build a blog site of cool drone videos, my apologies.
