Your conclusion about disarming are reasonable. It should be programmatically impossible for that to happen. The only thing that should cause a disarm in flight is if the crash detection triggers, which would require the copter to be nearly inverted and out of the control. But since the logs end prior to whatever went wrong, all we can do is speculate. And the long loops lead me to speculate it had something to do with that. But again, there's no evidence or log proving it and I could just as easily be wrong. Strange.
I jut did a quick run up test on mine sitting on the deck with the props off since it is raining. And I'm seeing slow loops on mine too. So I don't think it is just you experiencing this.
