3DR solo upgade to open solo 4 using sidepilot

So I got my old 3DR out and was able to find where I could get a download for the android app. it work found Sat's and was ready to fly. but could not remember the wifi password I put on it. so I defaulted and got stuck with the needs update. the only reason I mention this as to show the unit got 3D lock. I was able to get solo open 4 on remote, chopper and side pilot to all work but it stuck at can't get 3D lock even know it shows 10-11 sat"s.

Has anybody had this happen?

Did you do the accel and compass calibrations after installing Open Solo 4?

so i'm 100% sure I did the accel cal because it said i had to . but not sure about the compass one would that stop you from getting 3d Gps lock?

Yes it could. Do the compass cal outside after obtaining a good GPS indication. Then start the calibration with the Solo facing north.
