Hi Guys

One question, I have the ragecams 4.2mm HQ wide Flat angle for the Gopro black 4 and asked ragecams if they had a ND filter and they are recommending this one, it Would be exactly like the one from the link but for Gopro, according to them it's the best out there.

Is this better Than a ND4?

Thank You

I don't think any of the links you refer to got posted. Anyway, I like the Blurfix filters. Specifically the Blurfix air 3 pack:

If it's sunny and you are flying around water, I go with the ND8/CP

Otherwise the ND4 without the CP (circular polarizer) is usually good.

Also, set your ISO to 400. Always use 400 except in very low light.

If you don't have a filter, trying pulling your ev down to negative 1 or 2.

I didn't know you could change the ISO on the Hero 4 Black

Thank You very much for the input Erik.

And what do you think about using a ND120? is it better than ND4?

some time ago another member posted some gopro tips, setting, etc. I read it and took note and now I erase the notes from my phone without paying attention. do a
Well glass filters are always the best, but I don't know anything about that particular filter.

To be honest, I just pay attention to how many stops down a filter provides. So this one is the equivalent of 4 stops and that should be good on sunny days. You will probably want to get at least one other filter that doesn't step down that far (for days that aren't as bright).

I guess I'd recommend you start with this one and then decide later if you need more (darker) or less. Eventually you'll just get a feel for it depending on how bright it is. Most photographers carry a bunch of these at different values for different light.

Check out this page for some more info:

Great help, thank You Erik.

I just got my 6 pack of PolarPro Frame 2.0 filters that just came out but I haven't gotten around to trying them yet. Lightweight glass filters. I was looking for a set that also included various ND strengths with polarization as I fly over water frequently. The higher ND values will come in handy when trying to add blur to create the feeling of motion/speed.

2nd the Blurfix filters for GoPro as Erik has said.

Sometimes I forget they are on there and as the sun sets I forget to pull them off...duh. A light meter helps a lot. I set the ISO to 400 and the lens is fixed at 2.8 at 30 fps your shutter should be 1/60th give or take. With the EV compensation in the app and a few filters you can handle pretty much anything.

Looks like a good set with nice variety. Just ordered for myself. Thanks.

Being a new Solo and first UAV and GoPro owner, and a seasoned photographer - I knew I was missing something and looking. I use CP's on my digital SLR's all the time outdoors. Thanks all for the links, I think I'm going with the 6 pack from http://polarprofilters.com/shop/GoProFilter. Lighter, more filters for the money.

Plus side also, having something protecting that GoPro lens from sand blasting on takeoff and landing is a plus.

Anyone want to chime in that has both types/makes? What are your impressions on quality/optically? The glass quality itself is the heart of any filter, mounts are only physical.

Looking for another UV glass filter for the GoPro4 besides Blurfix anyone using anything else?

if it is very bright but no water around, should I go with the ND4 or ND8?

Thank You

about this kit, the polarprofilters, do you use the CP plus one of the ND's at the same time or it is or the CP or the ND's?

thank YOu

those don't come with any case, right? was checking that web site and the only case they have is for 3 filters, would be nice to have one for all 6.

I think you should really get both. Sometimes there is a lot of glare off grass and rocks, not just water. You'll also want to try out the circular polarizes. Sorry I can't give you a better answer. And yes some of them are Both CP and ND filters in one.
