VIRB Ultra 30 | Garmin

Yup, it seems that this can be very good camera ... according to specs.
I will w8 for reviews and tests on yt before I buy it.
Another thing is gimbal for garmin camera, don't see this coming to solo :/

The only down side I see is it is still max 60mbps
so the bit rate is no better than a gopro black
Would not expect sites and wonders better image quality
and you are back to fisheye. Wonder If Peau is going to offer a flat lens for them, and what that might do to stabilization
Sony's new action 4K actually moves the optics for stabilization, and I think they have slightly higher bit rates

From what I've read about other Garmin cameras, they tend to be prohibitive of doing anything custom. To include gimbal mounting and 3rd party integration. The thing has lots of cool bells and whistles, and will probably never be integrated into anything unfortunately.

that 11 ounce micro cinema
and not right now, I have a hunch that camera will make it to a 4K version
so I am going to target purchase end of year.
if its not 4K by then, I will grab a 1080
I usally produce final in 1080 for now anyway.
