Beautiful SoCal Morning Over the Water - Solo, GPH4B

Very Good! What setting did you use on the camera?
Hey there. Thanks! This was with:
2.7k @ 60fps
Protune flat
Sharpness low
5500K
Night shot off
Spot meter off
3.87mm lens (eBay)
Snake River Prototyping ND8+CP filter

Earplugs stuffed into the gimbal mounts.
Moongel behind the GoPro.

Then graded in Premiere Pro with Lumetri Color.
Edited in HD 23.976 timeline.

I'm not thrilled with the encoding and output. Something is off. Good for now.

Nice- I really liked the shots looking straight down into the water!
Where was this filmed?

Hey @Maddog. Thanks.
It was a great day for seeing the patterns in the sandy bottom churned up by the clear water. We rarely get days like this.
It was shot in Santa Monica, California at the beach near lifeguard Tower 26.

Shot some stills as well and the altitude combined with the wave and water action makes for a beautiful abstract photo. Also having the surfer in frame for scale is a bonus!

Wow! That is some clear water alright. In what part of the world are the Mascarene Islands?

Cyclone about to mess things up again

Tropical Cyclone Berguitta path track: Shock model shows DIRECT HIT on Mauritius

can take over a year for things to look normal. a few years ago when I was on the island the wind speeds were over 250 km/h thrashed everything.

Not a good idea to send the drone up but 2 weeks ago 3 cyclones were developing so while they were developing I went and got some footage.

Most cyclones in the mascarenes deviate and dissipate.
