Sand in gimbal

I am in Mexico and was flying with a group of friends. And one of the landings came up short and hit soft sand. Every thing works but the horizontal axis on the gimbal. It has sand in it. It moves almost as well as the vertical axis but I can hear I slight grinding sound. I can't see if I can take the motor apart or not. I don't want to be to aggressive with it, as its better than no gamble at all. Any ideas? I think a can of compressed air could do the trick but I can't find any
