Help for the new guy?

The scripts are "Open Solo Factory Reset Partition(Copter).zip" and the same for controller.

Do these after everything is working. They install in about 45 seconds...

Can you run mission planner on these?
Sure. After controller hot spot is live, just select it from the WiFi list. Then launch MP, and select UDP from the dropdown and hit connect, although it usually self-starts if UDP was previously used.

So, here's an update. I finally hauled everything to a place where I could get a GPS lock. I followed the install directions carefully and Solex 4 installed perfectly on the controller. I did the Solo right after, waited about seven minutes and rebooted everything. The controller shows "New Solo Found" (when I re-pair the Solo), I press and hold the A&B buttons and it starts searching for Solo, then eventually says "Pairing Unsuccessful". I tried many times and get the same result. Lights on the front are red and green.
Not sure what to do next.

Is this with your original or the new Solo?

My original Solo, but new controller.
About the only thing I can suggest is to upgrade the "new" Solo to OS4. My gut feeling is that the update didn't fully complete, as 7 minutes is short. I let them run for 12 minutes. If nothing works, I would post exactly what's going on to the Facebook group, get the entire Solo brain trust on the case.
If the new Solo is still running the original firmware, it will still connect to controller that is updated to OS4. It may take several tries with the pair button. Once they are paired, the new Solo can be updated using SOLEX. Definitely look it cook for 12 minutes before rebooting it.

I'll do that. If worse came to worse, can I load the firmware directly on the SD card in the Solo?

Yes, you can do that. However, if the actual Arducopter firmware is bad, one also needs to manually flash the cube itself with Arducopter...easy enough to do as the Solo is open anyway to access the card.

Well, I can't say this is a progress report... I tried pairing the new Solo to the updated controller (multiple times) with no luck. Controller is searching, but not finding. Can someone point me to the exact files I would need to put on the Solo SD card to make it compatible with the controller? Instructions?
It's taking my will to live.

Bizarre.
Here are the SD files, you'll need the copter and the cube (Arducopter) files. The SD card in the bird is flashed with Balena Etcher. The cube is flashed using Mission Planner - after downloading the cube file, point Mission Planner to that .apj file. The port for the USB cable is on the side of the cube itself, facing the SD card, can't miss it.

Thank you so much! One question. What should the file extension be? I got the .APJ file, but the other two don't have an extension.
