I was using an old Droid Turbo with the original Solo app to fly my 3DR Solo drone. Keeping my old cellphone was my work around after 3DR solo app was no longer available on the Google Play Store. The phone crapped out on me a couple of days ago but I was able to buy another Droid Turbo of Ebay and was able to upload the old Solo App that is no longer supported from the old phone. The app launches fine on the new Droid Turbo. I did a factor reset and everything was going well until I was prompted to download the Update 2.0.0 on the Droid Turbo. It acts like it is downloading to my phone (takes almost 10 minutes) and then it says it is ready to transmit to my Solo and my controller. When I switch the wifi connection to my drone and hit "begin" to start the download to the Solo and the controller; it immediately takes me right back to the "download to my phone" prompt. Its a vicious cycle.

I have tried the various reset options mentioned on the threads and even tried downloading Solex on my Samsung Ultra 22 which I quickly uninstalled as it was giving me all kinds of RC, Throttle, ..etc. Fail safe warnings once it was connected with no ability to fly and the controller still saying I needed to do the preflight update.

Is there somewhere I can find the update and put it on the old droid Turbo via file Manager or some other app or is there another option to get this to get pass the preflight update? I don't use my drone that often but it was flying fine 3 days ago until the Droid turbo crapped out. Hoping to be able to still use the ebay Droid Turbo for specific use with my drone. Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA

I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing with your 3DR Solo drone, especially after your original Droid Turbo failed. The issue you're encountering, a continuous loop during the preflight update, is a common problem, primarily because 3DR has discontinued support for the Solo app, and their update servers are no longer active.
By updating to the Open Solo firmware, you can bypass the outdated 3DR servers and restore your drone's functionality. This community-driven firmware offers ongoing support and improvements, ensuring a better flying experience.
