I am planning on going on vacation soon and I was planning on taking my 3dr on vacation with me and take some nice shots. Is there a way to plan your smart shots without booting on the drone ?? Im going to st Thomas the beaches there are awesome and I want set an multi cable cam along the shore before I fly soft of a pre planned flight so I don't have to waste my battery life trying to figure out the shot.

Yep. Tower is it. But just remember you're not making smart shots. Arducopter missions (flight plans in tower) are a different animal with a learning curve.
