Optical Flow for Solo

I've seen another older discussion about Optical Flow for Solo.. seemed to be in development last time it was discussed. I saw this today under the DIY Parts/ Support Articles section of the 3DR website.

Curious if this is something an enthusiast like me (not a programmer), could add to my Solo to improve stability and indoor flight? Anyone using Optical Flow on their Solo?

Lidar or Optical Flow with Solo - costs and ? .. did anything come of this kit and would it be what I'm thinking of?

Also saw this.. Optical Flow for Solo? not sue I'm up to the ardu-snuff.. so I'm asking more about something that attaches to the accessory bay or similar bolt on.

the original design was never built by 3DR.
Some X3DR folks did finally get it to work and launched it as a DIY.
Then 3DR rolled back the firmware in solo, making it no longer functional.
It really isn't going to become realistic until the remaster solo to arducopter
