Thank you Makatanav

Finished the course, passed all practical and written exams and now have my Australian CASA remote pilot licence, it was a big week but I learned a lot of great information

Have you been flying ? I had a big crash today, see my post in the Solo help section

lost 3 props - crashed - 3rd flight of the day - user error - logs attached

good to hear about exam
but those are bad news about crash, luckly you have spare parts to rebuild it. good to hear that camera is OK
did a flight on 6day - once video signal was lost and RTL kicked in (signal strength was still good, even not red), returned, turned Solo off/on andeverything was normal again (do't know what coused it)
Also know that one of battery is dicharging quickly, can fly and suddenly 15% and asks to land - not reliable at all. so looks like will stay with 2 batteries. need to buy battery checker

It is only for testing, very handy to check the voltage of each cell before you fly, could save a potential battery issue.

For our course the other week we flew phantom 4 drones and they had a individual cell indicator in their app, very handy. I did see the next version of open solo might allow this through solex.

@makatanav , hows the flying going, did you get the battery tool ? How did flights go with the Mikrotik R11e-2HnD ? I have changed my top camera bracket to a carbon fibre unit, the 3D printed one was good but this takes that little bit of flex out of it, nice and stable now, I have never worked with carbon fibre, all I needed was my trusty dremel tool :)

Looks great Robpower ?
The Mikrotik R11e-2HnD has been instaled on the same day it arrived, but weather is bad in weekends, rain, heawy winds, today fall some 15cm snow - I already thought spring has arrived, but not, not jet. ?
Hoping on this sunday - yr.no say's it could be +9, +12 degrees, atleast make a test flight :)

Thank you, happy with the mount, think I am finally done now, no more changes ?

I hope you get some good weather to test soon. I haven’t been flying, very dry and windy here, supposed to be autumn but feels like summer is still here.

Good luck with the test flights, interested to hear how they go.

This one was shot last weekend - 3 imaga panorama.
Again weather was not pretty - wind and rain
9997

Today went out to test the Mikrotik R11e-2HnD
I would say it's worth to upgrade controler card
Flown 1000m and even no red wi-fi signal showed, didn't went further - this was with stock antenas.
I have also alfas, maybe will test on next weekend, but 1km is way abowe that what I need.

About battery tester, when I was ready to order Solotool, the page was already down - either guy sold it's business or quited
So ordered - 3DR Solo Battery diagnostic tool from Madhacker.org, actually this one is also from Norwey - sent out on 22.03, will arrive within 5-8 days

How the flights for you?

That is an amazing image, we don't see that in aust, well done in the flying conditions. You need to put your images up on Instagram

Good to hear the wifi card worked. I might look into that later on, having no trouble out here at the moment, no interference. I have the Madhacker tool and it works fine, you will like it.

Due to weather I haven't had a proper fly since I put the graphite top mount on, only a test flight. Keen to go flying , now we have wind and rain. I am starting to look for and plan drone photo opportunities so when the weather is good I can fly, hopefully capture some nice autumn colours.

It`s already on instagram. Yeah, we have full spectrum of weather to enjoy here in Latvia.
Can you drop some imeges of "graphite top mount on " to make it clear? :)
For a plane drone, I have seen some builds with Ricoh GR also for mapping.
If all batteries will not be ok, I`m considering building 2 DIY ones (already gathered information) and I already hava spare 3DR board (bought on that store liquidation) to experiment on

What is your insta account name ? I'll take a look, I am @rob_power_photography

Here is the mount off the bird, graphite sheet (3mm thick) used for the top and the sides, they are 30mm wide, does this help ? The bottom mount where the camera mounts is 3D printed plastic

oh, now understood.
I thought something moded on top on solo, like GPS/battery cover from graphite :)
p.s. didn't know you got 2 similar 3Drs ?

No, nothing new, just wanted the top mount a bit stiffer. I actually have 3 birds, 2 the same and one with gimbal and gopro?

Hopefull weather ok this weekend so I can have a fly

The battery tester is a very valueable tool. I have added to my preflight checklist to check battery before and after flight. Weather bad here so no flying this weekend :(

tested the weakest battery (if not flaying furth away and howering, not bad - about 7 min)
