Magnetic interference problem

I made a crude cargo drop from a rc race car motor ,receiver and transmitter. Whenever i get the drop near the solo and boot up I get a magnetic interference notice on my controller. Question is - Will I have the same problem with a servo type drop and is there a fix for this problem?
 
When playing around with different payloads, I've done a lot, you will most likely have to recalibrate the compass

I found a workable solution, but it is far from satisfactory.
I suspended the bomb drop and receiver unit by a 3 ft chord from the bottom of the Solo. That solved the Mag interference problem and drops the payload.
Question -- If you get the magnetic interference notice on the controller screen, will recalibrateing make it go away?
 
Last time I got.magnetic interference and it wasn't going away, it was because I installed the compass backwards. The flat side has to be facing out of the leg.
