Hero 3 black (not plus) with no live feed

I'm brand spanking new to the solo (just got it two days ago). i have a GoPro Hero 3 black and when i plug it into the gimbal, it doesn't give me a live feed on my iphone 6+. anyone have any help they can offer me?

Newby, do a quick search on "live feed" or "no video". There are lots of discussions and recommendations which will probably apply to your situation.
