Help with Magnetic Problems

Cool. Once the new compass arrives, install and redo calibration. Should be in good shape then. In the meantime, you can fly with just the internal compass. Just bear in mind there is no redundancy or cross check.

The here compass plugs into the board in place of the leg compass which is no longer used.

As a novice pilot I'm worried about flying with a compass out. Do you know what would happen if the Pixhawk compass gives up the ghost too? As long as I can land it safely then I'm okay with that...

I'm dying to take it up!

(Reassurance needed!)

It will switch to manual and you'll have a very exciting flight with the yaw moving around like a drunk. Or something like that.

It's actually very reliable. But I would personally stay in low and close by.

I wasn't planning on anything far or high. I need to learn to land it in manual first anyway and there's no need to go far/high t learn that.

I'm giving it a go!
