i have my gimbal connected to my 3dr and it autosaves my shots to my iPhone and all my videos have this annoying "video description" on top.

What do you mean By VIDEO DESCRIPTION ? unless you talking about the go pro date and timers ?
Oh its easy just go to go pro app on ur tablet or smart phone and start by settings, the all the way down to the bottom take "DISPLAY" off then you good to go, its late for me to check my go pro right now but if not in the morning i sent you snap shots to follow and get it done okay no problem thats easy

Yes, and I would add that what is important is the video saved to your SD cards in the GoPro, the video downloaded to your phone will be sub-optimal for many reasons.
