A new camera option you say

This guy has low light dialed in, for F4 and no post noise reduction that is pretty clean

We have one brave guy working on it.
Has it mounted to a gimbal already and on the Solo
Working on magnetic interference on the compass in the leg

I would think a HERE unit would take care of the mag interference. I would be curious as to the weight of a gimbal to carry the Z cam.

He is using a Walkera G-3s Gimbal

I think it might be a bit heavy for a Solo but who knows

I looked at that. I think it puts the Solo payload at around 600 plus grams with the gimbal, camera and a light lens. pushing the envelope for sure

Thoughts on this setup?
Video is in spanish but the gimbal he used is in the description.

Dang the guy got 12 minutes on it flying from 87% to 17% on the solo with gimbal and camera
pretty dang good. I may have to abandon my gimbal building aspirations and just jump on this train

It has an interesting look
no Pid software though.
May have to put a storm in it

As it turns out you can put just about any storm based gimbal on a solo. Been done. In the old days there was too much magnetic interference, but now you can move your compass to the Here GPS and no more issue

More reason for me to get a Here since it's looking like the 3DR gimbals are soon to be extinct. I want to fly the Solo as long as possible and my next project will be a diy gimble. This guy's setup almost looks factory.

Looks pretty slick.

Pid? Not sure what that is but it sounds important lol. I'll leave the technical stuff to you and others that have knowledge in this area. I'm just a tinkerer with basic skills that likes to fly drones and record footage of scenery.

i Came across this. Looks like it's a couple of years old. Now that you can print the Gimbal plate might not have to "rig" it like he did. Might give more camera options.
