I'm not so sure. I know from (prior) experience that drone operators who are doing nothing wrong may wind up being on the receiving end of a civil rights violation.
That was going to my point as well MD. As you are a retired officer and I am current, we know that we can't just stop them at what they are doing and ask to see paperwork and ID. Here in TN we do not have vagrancy laws, so it's not a crime to be without ID. Stop and frisk isn't going to work unless you see/suspect them of a crime. And it certainly isn't up to me to enforce federal regs, be it FAA, FCC, etc.. That would require a badge bigger than mine.
There might be some misunderstanding here... the 'card' mentioned is what the LEO's have. On the card it refers to 'documents'.
Actually, I don't think most officers are going to want anything to do with "drone enforcement". They're overworked, underpaid, and there's just too many more important issues to deal with.

Yep, you can certainly include me in that statement as well as the others around here. We have enough to do. Let the feds do their own enforcement. We couldn't arrest on a FAA violation if we wanted to.
'Contempt of Cop', also known in some circles as 'P.O.P' or Pi**ing Off the Police'.
