They just released PowerDirector 14. For general video editing nothing over the top, Ultimate is great.

Yeah, I am thinking about it. I have been using GoPro studio and was trying out LightWorks which is pretty nice.
Went through some tutuorials with PowerDirector and it looks similar to lightworks.

Yea I'm trying power director ultimate 14 suite cause just ultimate had no trial, it went down to deluxe. So far I love it I'm not sure what all I'm going to lose cutting the price in half for just ultimate, but it seemed to just be an effects package from their chart of features.

So far so good, much better than GoPro without a doubt, takes a few hours to get the hang of it, but it's crazy fast so I'll be making that time up now.

Finished doing a quick project cutting and throwing a few flights together with music Friday and it went well. Had a busy weekend so I didn't get to do much else. For those like myself who are in the middle between newb and pro somewhere and want great results without spending a ton of time figuring out Premeire right now, it seems like a good fit. I'll post something from it in the next couple days and say if my opinion stays the same as I learn more.

I'd have to have some issues to go another direction now though, it's just so much faster to work with than most editors I've seen. Everything's instant or close to it with a decent PC and it doesn't seem to even make my Laptop work hard to accomplish it.

I have issues from my camera itself sometimes, usually I just use an adapter and plug the card into my computer now and it's faster and always works well.

No, just point PD to the files and use them.

I at one time used GPS (GoPro Studio) to convert them and trim them down, but that caused more problem than it was worth. So now I just use PD to do everything, like others have said its a little bit of a learning curve but its worth it.

It almost imported the files but didn't support high def files in the trial version then when I tried to import the files again the program couldn't find them. I don't know if it's the gopro or the program. I guess I need an adapter.

Well what a bugger. The files on the go pro are visible in windows 10 file explorer but not in PD 14.

Nope it's so much quicker and once you figure it out easier too really.

Not quite...Sony refused then, to license replicators to replicate pornography on Beta. VHS camps (philips) had no such ethical issues. The same issue surfaced between blu-ray and HD-DVD. My company was smack in the middle of that one. Sony was approached by Vivid's replicator, and later by AVN, and they agreed to not take a stand on the issue this time around. Voila, HD-DVD died a quick death once that happened, but for 18 months, it was a tight race. Of course, Apple wouldn't support BD no matter what, but they *were* supporting HD-DVD (Toshiba) as it would have given Apple an edge that didn't require licensing.

one convoluted word for you... Hackintosh, a great option for people with amazing PCs. A solid way to use all that time and effort you put into building your PC and still have the benefits of having a Mac when you need one.

Hackintosh Instructions, Hackintosh How To Guides: Hackintosh.com is the place to start - cool info and will tell you if you decide it's a cool option for you if you already have the right internals.

Not bad it's always nice to have the best and worst of both worlds, in this case not having to buy both like I have with every other top brand device would be a good thing for my bank account. Till now I've just bought both sides and that's far from cost effective since a MacBook Pro would be what I'd need for this purpose and I've got a Sager with better specs already.

I'll still do some research on how well it works, but I'll at least look into how good of an idea this would be. I think Windows is better for me personally, as I do with 3dr over my phantom, but I love being able to try both and decide which fits me best in the end not just go by what I read on this here interweb thingy, even if it does always speak the truth. lol

The "J" wrap being better res than "M" wrap?
@ $100k and no royalties to pay it was CHEAPER.

VHS machine= $200
Beta= $650

you could record porn on any format.
Lots of VHS to Beta transfers.
as I have said before to the VMware/Unix/Linux IT guys..
Nobody cares what OS/system/hardware serves them their porn.

DVD battle was light years off...and yes, Sony won that one lesson learned.

So, maybe "Not Quite" but the $$ was the big reason... NOT porn.
