Yes, because when you do that it also sends it to 3DR. They found most people were sending it to themselves for their own review or purposes and not as part of an incident report, but they didn't know that and spent a lot of time looking at logs that had no issues.

Wouldn't a simple fix to that problem be to only send the email to the email address that the user typed in? If the user wanted it to go to 3DR then just leave the default email intact or be able to add another email address if the user wanted a copy.
 
maybe, but there are a ton of better ways to get logs
and they will be even easier in the future

It sounds like it won't be as easy as a fix as it sounds. From the sound of it, the app pings the server and creates a support ticket. The user is supposed to send it to them but never does. What results is a stack of empty incident response cases.

Rather than spend time trying to fix the system for something that wasn't intended, they just enforced the logs to be sent which makes sense from a business perspective. It's more cost effective that way.
