I understand that the Solo app has data logging, that in case of a crash, 3DR can review the data to determine the cause and ultimately decide if a Mechanical fault or user error caused the crash. Does the Solex App do this also, and would 3DR treat it as the same as using their SOLO app for warranty repair or replacements? Thanks.

The data is captured in Solo and on the controller, no app needed to record or what app is being used. Any defect error is electronic or mechanical hardware related typically is covered under warranty. You crashing the bird due to loss of gps, is on you....as an example.

I get that part, but how is 3dr gonna react if I'm using Solex vs their own Solo App? Will they even know?

No they will not know unless you alter parameters like flight profiles or maximum distance. As RichWest said the logs are stored on the solo and controller.

If it's a mechanical problem your covered, if "you" crash due to pilot error it's your fault.

Solex is by far better than the stick solo app.

Fly safely now.
