Safe to Use GoPro Smart Remote for Photos?

If one uses the Solo without the gimbal, is it safe to use the GoPro Smart Remote as a trigger for photos? I understand that the Smart Remote connects to the GoPro on the camera's wifi and this wifi signal may interfere with the connection between the Solo radio and drone. RAW photo capability off a GP 5 or 6 is the reason.

Is this fatal?

The only side effect is the potential reduced wifi range. Nothing fatal or dangerous.

Is there a reason you would not just set the H5 or 6 on a timelapse setting?
