Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS on 3DR Solo

I am looking to use my 3DR Solo for some research that requires a high level of precision in drone positioning. I think a real time kinematic GPS unit would be required to get the level of precision I'm looking for.

Does anyone here know of anyone who has used on rtk GPS unit with 3dr solo? Is there a preferred brand or model?

With the 3DR SOLO GPS module (NEO-M8N) will not it work? Do you need 3DR SOLO RTK GPS (NEO-M8P)?
