Newbie issue: stuck in tree - any tips?

Cut the tree down. That's what I did.

Fishing pole with heavy test line has gotten down many drones.

Cast over and over until you grab the branch you're after(with a heavy weight) and shake the hell out of it.

...lots of good suggestions here. Honestly, I still would have asked the FD, but I would have played my fellow 'First Responder' card and explained the value of ongoing training to the Chief.
