In another thread a few minutes ago asked about firmware updates on a refurb Solo. I'm setting up this one (I have 3) to be only used for manual mode - Are firmware updates even a concern? Is there a flight risk if it's not up-to-date if it's only used in manual flight?

I think you need to do an update to Open Solo 3.0 on all of your Solos. Use this one to "learn" how to do the update on your others.
Almost always a great idea--even if you only fly manual. Minimum you should be at 1.5.3. If you don't do any other upgrades/updates, this is the one to do.
