Is phantom advanced 3 this easy to fly?

i got two solo but I see myself growing out of this one in a year. Is the p3 as easy to fly? Landing manually is always a challenge. I've been practicing in grass and did have a tilt landing today. The system shut down quick to avoid damage to the motors. Blades were saved but I didn't want to risk flying imbalances.

I thought about doing some surveys around my house to practice but no one seems to make any for solo.

The tower app (android) and Mission Planner (windows) allow you to create surveys (and a lot more) with solo

The P3 is a dream to fly, pretty much fly's itself. There is even an automated take off & landing (I always hand catch my Phantoms and Autel). If you want to get your feet wet look into an affordable P3 Standard. They run between $350 & $400 new. It will do everything the other P3 series does including mapping. There is also a slew of third party apps built on the DJI SDK. You can't go wrong with a DJI product. CS is not like it used to be, they have improved immensely.

I have a Phantom 3 Standard and the flight modes are pretty close to the same as a Solo for flying. In my opinion, the Solo is more stable landing manually, because the legs have a wider span. The Phantom 3 & 4 loop-legs do not have nearly as wide a stance, meaning less stable in touching down.

As for mapping and surveying, the makers of Drone Deploy claim they have a version that will work with nearly any drone.

What I like about solo are all the templates. I also love the fact we get to use go pros which means endless lens options and accessories. I wish they would have designed the gimbal to use the waterproof case. I feel that the GoPro is too exposed to the elements. For $800 I have two solos with two remotes 6 batteries 2 charges 2 GoPro and 3 gimbals I've been flying everyday and to be honest I don't think I would have been if I got a mavic. $1100 for one drone with little clearance scares me. I'm really enjoying myself.

Now that being said we all know solo days are numbered. Just a matter of time. Can't justify getting something that would be too hard to fly. Would like to have all the templates and presets. Would love all the auto features like geofence pause rewind etc. camera controls etc.

I feel your pain, but no way to get to the GP Bus and HDMI and keep the case waterproof. You can of course, use the waterproof case without the gimbal and "fix it in post".
