how to use panorama?

I tried using the panorama feature. did the cylindrical, spherical, and video... it said on the screen that it took 11 shots. 6 shots. then I return home and on my memory card is a bunch of videos I had made (besides the panorama stuff). but I didn't see any JPEGs or video panoramas. I imagined it would take a bunch of pics and then I would use panorama software to stitch them. what am I doing wrong?
