I have both the Hero 4 Silver and Black models and have used both in the solo gimbal. The black model will cause the Solo to restart after being shutdown for several second. Only two ways to stop the automatic restart is to remove the solo battery before it powers back up or remove camera from gimbal.
Occasionally, with solo battery removed and GPH4B shutoff, there is a clicking sound from the Solo Pixhawk. It only stops when the GP is removed from the gimbal so know issue is with gimbal control circuit and not HDMI. Ticket and video was submitted to 3DR and only suggestion was to remove GP battery and reset the camera. All that does is clear the restart initially but subsequent solo shutdowns will cause the solo to restart.
This does not happen with the GPH4 silver. It operates as the manual says it should and issue is only the the black model. I have tried turning on GPH4B before powering up Solo, with no difference. Switching batteries and SD cards between the sliver and black makes no difference. Only thing that stops is removing camera from gimbal and reinstalling.
