Here 3 RTK

Hi,

I searched for it, but the results were inconclusive... ;-)

Does anyone know, if the new(?) Here 3 with UBlox M8P can be used with OpenSolo? I upgraded one of my airframes to the Here+ RTK several months ago and , IIRC, there was a small issue regarding the compass sensor which was solved finally.

This whole RTK thing is for me one of the main reasons to go for open source and the Solo so any help is appreciated.

How is the Here+ working for you? I've fooled around with a number of M8P chips with Solo, and never really gotten great results, attempting to use Emlid Reach RS as a base station.

I don't see the Here 3 as an upgrade- as it also has the M8P chip. Your position will be no better than the Here+, and getting a fix will be no better. But I do remember someone getting GPS to work via CAN. Might have been on Facebook.

That's true, it is still a M8P L1-only chip. But it is an upgrade in terms of price (~halved) and I consider it an option for my other Solos, one of which still has the original GPS.
