Google Pixel 2XL; follow mode issues

I have tried a number of times to use 'follow me' mode, but for some reason, Solo can't lock in on the phones GPS. Is anyone else having this problem.? Everything else works great...cable cam, selfie, orbit, etc.

That particular device is known for spotty GPS in general. Solo won't use it unless it is solid.
