Have you experienced and EKF failure that resulted in a loss of control or other crazy behavior? Do you have a corresponding log file? I need it! I've got some ArduPilot folks spun up on this issue and we'd like to see some logs of the incidents. Suffice to say, the expected response from the should not be to randomly fly away and crash. So we need to determine if the problem is in ArduCopter or the companion computer.
The general feeling is it is the companion computer mishandling the situation. No other vehicle running ArduCopter wigs out and flies away when it experiences position or compass variance. It is supposed to just switch to manual and chill out. But that doesn't ever seem to happen.
