I've only been instructed to calibrate once but it failed in several different fields, and the standard answer was always a reference to possible magnetic interference.
3DR support had me try again then immediately connect to the internet and bingo they had my log file which indicated that the external compass unit in leg 4 was not responding. They sent me a new leg. All is fine now.
