I didn't even know what I was getting into here. It was listed on Slick Deals so I took a look. I've been wanting to get a nicer drone instead of the toy drones I have but just couldn't spend $1k on one. So I debated back and forth, i did some reading and realized quickly what a good deal this was. Initially the kit was "out of stock" on my phone and went to B&H on my laptop and it showed in stock. I cancelled just the drone purchase for $129 and got the kit for $159.

In the end, I wasn't sure that it would go through but B&H stepped up, I'm impressed. Now, after the fact, I realize what a great deal this was and to get all the extra equipment with it is crazy. They have the batteries on sale for $40 and I'm getting 3 of them!!

Now I wish I was like some on here that ordered 3 or 4 of the kits. Could have sold them on Ebay and made money. Oh well, still a spectacular deal!!

I also found this forum and DAMN, what a wealth of information. I didn't realize what a complicated machine this is. I'll be reading on here for years

This is the one I ordered last week for $199 and when the price dropped to $129, B&H gave me a $70 refund. It’s definitely been opened before.

That's the same version Solo I received last week...the one for $199. I thought it was strange that the large velcro strap was missing as well as cardboard motor discs. Perhaps I received a returned unit. I did pop off the gps cover and looked underneath...it's a Rev B.

Yep that's exactly how my newer one came. I think 3dr was trying to save some money and leave those things out. It also had the Rev B GPS. The other one I got had the strap and cardboard over the props but the Rev A GPS.

I was so happy to get in on this deal as well- looks like I'll have 2/3 of mine on Wednesday. I have been eyeing this drone since it came out, just never pulled the trigger. If anyone has any good gimbal options, please advise. Currently, I'm debating buying a craigslist find b/c it has the 3dr gimbal with it at least...basically it will be the same price since all the ebay and amazon ones are going for around 200.

Get in on a gimbal as soon as you can. The supply is drying up.
