Hello everyone!
Just wanted to layout my setup for a more informative introduction.
Currently I have two Solo airframes. One looks near new and does not have a gimbal installed. I have a gimbal to go on it, but am waiting to find a compatible GoPro hero 4 black. This airframe I have in a Think Tank Helipack for Solo and I have pushed OpenSolo 4 onto both the controller and airframe. After the update, I did successfully preform a position hold flight for a few minutes, though my battery was draining quickly. It was also with 20+ mph winds which didn’t help the situation.
My second airframe appears to be complete and I have it housed in a 3DR Solo backpack. This frame appears to have a repaired crack on the fwd right motor arm. My thoughts are that it was crashed at one point. This airframe does have a gimbal installed, but I have not done much on this yet as I wanted to do a thorough tear down and inspection before pushing forward with full restoration.
I currently have a stock of OEM spare props and legs. I also have multiple chargers for the controllers and airframe batteries.
My plan moving forward it to return both aircraft to full flight condition. The airframe that appears to have been crashed I will be designating as Ship 00 and will be a modification/testing platform, and the better condition aircraft I plan on using for proficiency training and potentially as a platform for beginning as a part 107 pilot when I am able to obtain the license.
I hope to also add at least one more Solo to this small fleet at some point in time as funds and availability come in the future.
Again, as in my introduction post, I’m excited to be here amongst the community. I hope to learn from you all and to eventually begin contributing to the community.
