hi guys, just what is the normal after flight temp for these things?
i flew my solo for the first time today, just around the backyard slow and mellow to get a feel for the thing
flew for 10 mins to around 50% landed and went inside, when i pulled the battery i found it was quite warm, much warmer
than any of my fixed wing batteries get. so i put it back in to see what the temp was in solex....117 degrees, seems too hot to me, i
checked the cells and the balance looked great, so do they always run that hot?

also the controller got pretty warm, battery was cool, it was the top of the controller so i'm guessing that's where the wifi card is, is that normal?

Yes... I fly in temps around 95F then add solar affect to the black shell cases, the battery can get quite warm. I've never experienced an issue with the Solo batteries due to heat. Personally I find I get longer flight times when it's warmer outside.

Interesting, LiPo's are impacted by cold rather than heat...within reason. Most of my battery failures was during cold ambient...which was a cell killer to my old batteries. Charging a hot battery is bad...

Interesting article, worth reading on the subject...
