anyone flown with easyjet?

Has anyone taken their solo with a backpack on to an Easyjet flight? Unfortunatly I have to fly with them and wanted to see if it fits ok.

From what I believe, their bag restriction is : 50x40x20cm. Are they stringent on that? I believe the backpack is 53x40x27cm (approx). So not much bigger but............

Hoping I dont have to put it in the hold but if I do, I do have a hardcase.
