Amazon deal is back

LOL 400 bucks more to install the gimbal which they value at 22 bucks
Someone needs to hire a pricing strategist

I have a sneaking suspision this is going to become the new price for a while.
This is all just my opinion, but enterprise appears to be bombing, so they are going to move these things the best way they can
If I did not own two and a DIY I would jump on it though.

Good news for those who want a second, or a first

If they are not producing any more units and want to unload, you might be right about the new price. ( I wonder how many they manufactured?) They are directing their attention to subscription/site scan and not the consumer drone market. I've already got my spares too, so I'll be set for a while regardless of what 3DR does. Unless they go chapter 11 or something, they will be supporting these for quite a while I suspect. The third party repair shops like 'Current UAS' and some others will be able to repair these and probably have most parts in stock. I just got one from 3DR on their 4th of July sale, and got an RMA for the gimbal which had a 'twitch' in it. Their support was very responsive, no big delay in communications.

Yea the enterprise ordeal is a bit early and expensive for most I fear, well not really cause I wouldn't mind buying the cam, gimbal and other accessories when they too get this discount. I'm sure there's some with deep pockets getting on board, but I find it hard to believe too many companies will fit this into the budget or be run by folks exited enough by drones to want too. I'm sure there's a lot of cool features I've overlooked or are above my pay grade, but most I'm assuming could be done with the drone and some diy work. Could be wrong though, guess we'll see soon enough, just seems a hefty price tag on top of a subscription is risky business.

Yup I too just had a great customer service experience, sent mine off with stability issues at a year and got a refurb that for all I can tell is basically a brand new bird with a brand new battery.

I with ya pyrate. If had not already had 3 solo's. I have one that I am keeping stock for now, another that I am modding and one for parts/R&D. and a [EXPLETIVE REMOVED] load of DIY multiroters.

The new PH2 has me stoked for potential. I am pouring all my money into my DIY
picked up two more batteries and a charger for my DIY this week.
Bout to pull the trigger on a new Tarranis TX
Still looking at those $36 T-motor 630kvs not sure on those yet

I use a 9xr pro with a Dragonlink v3. The Dragonlink also lets me do mission planner with out using radios. I'm using a 5.8 radio for video. The video is the resone I got a solo. I bought the solo to cut it up and use solo link as data down link. My frame is a modded hoverthing flip with ex long arms tiger mn4008 motors 13 props with A navio2/raspberry pi3 flight controller. I have building a wifi groundstation hoping for atleast 1 mile stable comunication. With the rpi3 I a wifi so that I can ssh to FC and give dronekit Python commands. Anyway liked solo so much after purchase had to get to just fly.

I got into it pretty good with 3dr's former global sales director the other night over on the Solo Owners FB group. My take away is they never had a strategy for anything and his statements back that up claiming that Solo was ALWAYS destined for the enterprise prize realm.

Man you got a lot going on there, would love to see that rig. Motors and props are still puzzling me. I have the 800KV with 11 inch props from my scrapped x8 on my build. But I want to go to lower kv and bigger props. but solving for the best fit is putting a load on my undeducated brain

After a month of waiting, my Prime Day deal was delivered last night. The original deal came with Gimbal installed, Backpack, and 8 Props. Not sure how long they have been including the leg extenders but I ordered a set with a spare battery and lens filters, then found the included extenders in the little box with the weights and Sun shield. Went through the unboxing ceremony and updates. At the very end of the process the Controller threw a Controller Stick Error. I figure good that happened before the props got spinning. Got my ticket in but Monday is a long way off. Bummer.
