A total beginner who was offered a 3DR Solo Drone and is starting to think it wasn't a good idea!

I was recently offered a 3DR Solo drone that is 7 or 8 years old. I was so excited but after more than a month of research, trials and no success, I wonder if it was a good gift after all! I will post my experience in the forum, hoping I can find more answers than I have so far.
