Kindle Fire for Solo App or Tower?

I am trying to do the same thing. From what I understand you must 'root' your Kindle in order to run Google Services (which is key to the apps functioning properly).
In order to get the .apk or apps on your Kindle you must "side load" them, ala load them on using your pc.
Side loading is super easy, unfortunately rooting the device is still eluding me.

This should at least give you something to Google. Please post if you figure out rooting or need more help otherwise.

Beware, as some Kindles are NOT safe to be rooted. Mine is an HDX 7, I believe the latest version. WHen I got to the bottom of everything I didn't find one person who had successfully rooted it, and many who warned not to root that model. That's the bad news.

The good news is that there ARE programs that allow it, like this:

I didn't use that exact one, but one like it (the name currently escapes me). The funny thing is my Galaxy Note Edge is so much sharper that even though it is a small screen, it works better for me, so I never use my Kindle for that anyway.
