triggering the Gopro with Mission Planner

I've used MP dozens of time without the gimbal firing Mapir camera, which were set for timed exposures. I'm now trying to get MP to trigger the gopro based on distance flown.

Does anyone have input on getting Mission Planner to properly trigger the shots for the Gopro. Am I wrong, I thought MP supported this?

This may not be related, but the current software has a bug preventing triggering the camera in Tower, so it may affect MP as well? There is a fix floating around until 3DR's next update, which should be real soon. The workaround is here, and you have to revert it or do a factory reset before updating when 3DR releases their next update. 3DR Tower missing "Survey"

Got it,
I'm using MP as I have a quick program that writes the geotag data to the memory card images. I reads the MP tlogs and adds the data to the images in a said location. If Tower could do this, that would be great. Else I'm so close to buying another bird that does this in the camera and it won't be a DJI.
