Where can I find the SD card images for both the Solo and Controller for the 3DR V2.4.2 and autopilot 1.3.1? I want to try and play around with the open source side of things but want to have something to fall back on before I switch out the firmware.

They should be already in your Solo and Controller. Just open them up, take out the cards and make an image of them.
Also, if I take the cards out to copy them, are there only the two? One in the controller and one in the solo. Or is there also one in the Pixhawk 2.0?
There are only two cards to be concerned with. One in the Solo and the other in the Controller. The 3DR images for these cards are posted in the 3DR Solo Hacks group in Facebook. PM me if you aren't on Facebook and need a copy.
The SD card in the Cube is just for logs.
