I bought my Solo from Fry's Electronics. I charged all batteries overnight, applied the available updates, and set all parameters to the lowest/slowest they would go.

When I turned on the Solo it required a calibration, which I did, pressed the Fly button and it was in the the air.
It worked perfectly! After 5 min I was increasing the speed and response.

I did some flying in manual mode, it still was pretty easy.

I was hesitant to purchase after reading some of the stories.
I have flown the rc helis but never a quad. I was very surprised how easy it was to maneuver

My 1st light was flight test only. I didn't use a camera.

I would like to thank the community for all the help that is provided here.

My Solo comes Monday (tomorrow). I hope my first flight works out as well as yours. Thanks for the post.

Welcome to the list Meltedchip! Glad you are enjoying your Solo and had a problem free maiden flight.
Hopefully you will be among those of us who have a trouble free Solo (so far), but if not, this is the place to be. Lots of help here.

Ahhh, another successful honeymoon. I'm glad, keep flying and pay very close attention. My solo was perfect and showed no issues until about day 29.

sorry should have posted picture of what I was talking about here it is...
