Hey guys, i'm new to the forum. I just received my 1st real drone (3DR Solo) yesterday and I'm excited about learning everything I can and getting it up in the air. I've had a few of the "toy" drones (under $50) and didn't spend much time learning how to really fly them so I kinda lost interest. But since I got such a great deal on the Solo I figured it's time to start investing some real time and effort.

What should I be focused on? I hear a lot about props and antennas, but I don't want a crash course on crashing the thing either. Your thoughts?

The Solo User Manual is a good starting place.
Then you can download a copy of the 3DR Solo Service Manual.
You may also want to visit the many Arducopter webpages, starting perhaps with this page about the new 150 gram SkyViper, which is much safer to learn on than most quadcopters.
