My motors (all 4) get to about 110F (75F ambient outside temp) after just a few minutes of flight...at 110F, I can hold the motor between my fingers, but if it was just a little hotter, I couldn't.

Is that a normal motor temp for the Solo?

My Phantom stays pretty cool...nowhere NEAR the temp of the Solo. Other multi-rotors I've built about the same as the Phantom.

Thanks...

Heat is friction...oil the bearings and see if that cools them down a bit. If you are flying full tilt or just hovering, you should expect some heat build up. If normal flying, then you need to watch them.

Oil...yeah.

Well...these motors are brand new (as far as I know)...wouldn't think they'd need oiled...in fact, I've never oiled any of my multirotor motors (a mistake?)

Anyway, I'd love to know what temps others are getting.

Thanks...

Yep, they'll get hot. No real worries.
Only if you notice one gets hotter than the rest should you be concerned.

110-120 in low-mid 90s ambient temp.

OK...well....it sounds like my motors are "normal", even if they do run hotter than any motors I've used in the past.

Thanks Sardg,
