I am still considering the M8N upgrade to my Solo. I have had Solo loose GPS connection a couple of time during missions and flight. Plus some days I find the connection time to be crazy long. On days it takes an extended amount of time to get a GPS connection I have checked to see if I met RAIM for aircraft approaches and on a couple of occasions I didn't meet RAIM, on other occasions that didn't hold true. So anyway I am considering this upgrade.

There could be some problems with the GPS module picking up and using satellites that are not ideal for determining position. Has anyone had issues with getting a GPS lock and not having good position function with Solo? Also any problems with the module after software updates to solo, I would be frustrated if I installed the M8N and then it stopped functioning after an update.

Curious, have you done or looked into the GPS Spacer mod. I've had great results once I spaced out the copper shielding from the GPS. Night and day difference.

Mine has improved a good deal since the 2.0 update it seems except on my second battery yesterday. I even took off in manual with 7 satellites and went to about 100 feet and it took forever to get a lock. Seemed like it was searching less than before in manual, I fly manual a lot but this was the first time since the new update I took off before lock. Kinda strange like it delayed it when I took off in manual?

agreed, since the newer firmware updates and installing the isolation thing, I just see no need to mess with the hardware
it is working for me

All stock. No problems here. 2.0 is awesome GPS locks within 2 min of power up every time! If it ain't broke don't fix it. lol

The M8N's from Ready To Fly Quads are already flashed and are plug and play ready.
