I wonder if I should be concerned about this?

Hello all,

I received my replacement Solo kit today. It only took a couple of days since I sent my crashed unit in.

Anyway, I powered up the controller to check to make sure it powered up like it should. It was sitting there for several minutes and then it went into shutdown routine. The spinning circle then shutoff. I also noticed that at one point it showed a different screen. It showed the screen that displays the GPS in the upper left corner instead of the "Waiting for Solo" screen. It only did this for about 6 seconds. Then reverted back to the waiting for solo screen.
The Solo didn't have a battery in it so no way it could have been powered up.
The battery is at 50 percent so it didn't shut down for low battery. I powered it back on several times and hasn't done it since. I just noticed it did it again after about 10 minutes.
This is with the Solo turned off.

Have any of you seen this?

I'm about to open another case with 3DR.

I might be a bit over sensitive to this since this behavior was the precursor to my crash that resulted in a warranty replacement.

Any input or should I just quit whining and fly it?

Don.

Never mind my last post. Turns out after ten minutes of no activity the controller shows a message of "Controller Inactive, shutting down"
Paranoia sucks!

Thanks Ed...absolutely!!

Any bugs with 2.1.1? That's what this one came with and no upgrade message.

Interestingly the replacement Solo came with firmware rev. 2.1.1 and say it's up to date.
Does anyone know if 3DR pulled 2.4.0?

Not to my knowledge. There was also a 2.3 out there. Upgrade your iOS or Android Solo app to the latest version and connect to Solo. Then connect to your wifi or your cell provider and restart the app. I t should then say Upgrade available on the app.

I found that the Nexus tab isn't downloading the update. I get an I/o error. Don't know why it's doing that. But it keeps me from logging in and downloading updates.

Edit: I ended up doing a factory reset on the Nexus then waiting for all updates to finish then loaded 3DR Services. From there I loaded the Solo app. and WaLa...it found the network, the Solo and even had the serial number loaded. On top of that I can now load the training vids. I could never do that before.
