might have to buy 3 more chargers to get all those charged.I managed to get my hands on 3 additional batteries since launch and it takes me a full day to charge all 5 batts..

yeah tell me about it.As soon as I find one or they start selling them.. Of course because right now.. it's a hassle and a half.
Pick up a LiPo charger http://www.amazon.com/Original-1~15...8&qid=1437531280&sr=8-5&keywords=lipo+charger. Take a 2 wire 110v extension or power cord. Bend one of the prong in and up to align with the receptacles on the battery. On the other end solder a couple of banana plugs. Take note of polarity, the top slot is positive. Set the charger for 4s and charge at 3-5amps. Now you can charge 2 at a time.Definitely have to come up with some way to charge multiple batteries simultaneously or we're going to be managing batteries more than flying!

Haven't opened the battery yet. And I believe the 3rd pin provides data to the pixhawk for telemetry on battery condition.Do you know what that 3rd (top) female slot is on the 3DR battery? Have you tried to open the plastic case on it yet?
